A Three-minute Bible Study

Read the following Bible passage, then answer the short questions. Consider the practical suggestions at the end of the study.
Passage:
II Peter 3:13-14*

    13. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new earth, the home of righteousness.

    14. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Questions

Practical help

    A man barrels to Las Vegas. Another man heads to church. Yet one principle describes them both: Where you’re headed determines how you act. The gambler speeds toward the source of his addiction. The believer moves toward those who worship God.

    Since Christians are bound for heaven, Peter urges us to take the next logical step: Until we arrive at the heavenly gates, we should live in ways that show where we’re headed. And though Peter doesn’t — and couldn’t — say so, we would add that means no Web porn.

    This year, make the prayer of a famous Christmas carol your own: "Fit us for heaven to live with thee there."
